Am I a skeptical idealist?

Guess so... :)

The definitions already posted here are pretty good ones...

Skeptical idealists are people live by their ideals and can easily imagine/picture ideal scenarios for a better future... at the same time, they keep a healthy dose of skepticism which enables them to identify the path/steps for the creation of a better present, thus getting closer to the ideal scenario they keep looking at.

They have visions about an ideal future, but do not fantasize reality - they act consistently... they do not deny the existence of obstacles... they consciously work to overcome them... with the capacity of "picking up the right battles at the right time".

To a certain extent, she/he is a person that sees what a perfect world looks like and is working towards that... and is able to see what can and must be done right now... not reaching perfection, but moving in the right direction.

She/he is someone that walks the talk most of the time - mistakes are part of the process... matching intentions and actions might be challenging :)
